Great features, poor layout and cleaning

Bought three weeks ago. Like the simmer and dual burner capability. However, when using a large pot on that burner, it rests against the top knob. The down draft isn't as powerful as the one on Jenn Air we replaced. And the directions on how to place the filter is incorrect. At the first use our smoke alarm sounded. The louvered grate is difficult to clean, because of the angles. The worst quality is that the glass surface always looks dirty and smeared. After each use you can't just wipe down with a sponge, the special cleaner needs to be used. Then a chalky residue is left leaving white particles everywhere. I wish we had read these reviews before purchase. We would have paid more for another Jenn Air down draft.
