I just bought this cook top to add to my kitchen renovation. I am completely disgusted and upset with this product!! The FIRST time I used it I put a pan on to steam vegetables. When I removed the pot there were SCRATCHES on my beautiful new cook top!! When I called KichenAid I was told that I could only use completely flat-bottomed cookware! Where does it say that in the description of your product? All of my pans have ridges (like a phonograph record) which is the way all pots/pans are these days. So I went out the next day and purchased a FLAT BOTTOMED fry pan. Following the "seasoning instructions" I rubbed the pan with cooking oil, put it on medium until it smoked, and then removed it. Imagine my upset upon seeing baked on spots on my new cook top!! I have used all the approved cleaners (both cream and spray) and the spots still remain. What with this cook top look like in a week or a month, or longer? Why on earth would you sell a product that can't be used under normal situations? Needless to say, I am VERY UPSET with this product, and I certainly would NOT recommend it to anyone!!!

I. Have had my surface unit a year. I am still trying to get use to how much I should use per pot. It does cook nice and I love the simmer on the knob. The downdraft area is easy to clean.
