Why have to connect to WIFI to use some features?

The stove cooks well. I especially like the induction cook top. Speedy and easy to keep clean. My only complaint is why on earth I should have to hook the stove up to WIFI to use some stove features. This seems completely unnecessary and intrusive.
Love this stove

The burners heat so fast on this induction stove that food quickly cooks. I especially like the reduction in radiating heat off the stovetop. Also, pans and range surface are staying much cleaner. Though price is more than the conventional electric ranges, I feel induction will be worth the extra cost. The GE induction range has many features that would be more expensive in other brands. I certainly recommend this stove.

Although we waited (like everyone else) 9 months to finally get the range, it was worth every day. The features are wonderful and nothing can beat the induction range top on the market today. GE makes a very competitive range and should be consider in your remodeling project.

Disappointed in the "power boil" burner

I've just had my unit for a little over a month and don't use the oven very much. It seems fine; just takes awhile to preheat. I am very disappointed in the "power boil" burner on the induction cooktop. It requires a VERY wide pot to get the full benefit of the wattage. I want to use this burner for boiling water for cooking pasta or potatoes. I currently am testing 4 stockpots on the burner and not one of them is quite as wide as the circle on the cooktop. Two are about 9" in diameter and it took about 9 minutes to boil 2 quarts of water! The other 2 are about 10" in diameter and it still took about 5 minutes for just 2 quarts. I have searched and searched for a wider stockpot and can't find one. It is very, very disappointing. The fan goes on often when using the cooktop or the oven. The burners on the cooktop hold heat for a long time. I was expecting them to cool down quickly. My expectations were so high for this unit and I waited at least 3 months for it to arrive and another 6 before it was installed during my kitchen remodel. It just hasn't met the expectations.
