The plastic flex edge has become sticky. The plasticizers are coming out of the material. You can't clean the stickiness off. Can't use it any more because I don't want this residue in my food. Sad as much is this costs the plastic is poor quality! Would recommend if they change the material its made from.

I received this as a gift, and loved it....until a few months later the rubber began to crack and peel away. Now there is a sticky residue along the crack in the rubber between the part that coats the frame and the flap that extends beyond the frame. This piece has been hand-washed after each use, and worked wonderfully to scrape the sides of the bowl while mixing, but I'm very disappointed in the quality. I expected more from the KitchenAid brand.

I have my mother-in-laws "vintage" Kitchen Aid mixer and this makes keeping the sides of the bowl clean so much easier!!
