I had a different brand of hand mixer that was ridiculously too fast on the lowest setting. This encouraged me to seek a slower start on a hand mixer. I have been an owner of a KitchenAid Proline Stand Mixer since the 1980's, but also wanted something to use for small jobs. This mixer definitely meets my expectations. Love the retro color as well.
