The different speeds are important , especially since I'm not the best baker in the world and tend to make a mess of things in and around the mixing bowl, starting slow really helps me keep the contents in the bowl. I also love the whisk ejector button one hit and the whisks are in the sink ready to wash, with out my touching them, so far I'm really happy with this mixer and hope the motor holds up for many years.

Needs a faster speed for whipping cream. The high speed should be that of the 9 speed model. In between speed could be adjusted - divided by 5 for this model.
