Be Ready to Tend Your Toast

I toast long slices of sour dough bread for breakfast. I have to set the toasting level all the way up to high. The ends of the bread get lightly browned and the middle has no color at all at the end of the cycle. If I toast it again to get the middle browned -- the ends get burned. So I break the bread in half removing an end that is "done" and put the balance of the piece back in for a second toasting making sure to place the undone middle section towards an end of the toaster slot. My son told me he never knows what to expect when the toast is done. I may as well be toasting my bread over an open fire -- about as reliable a result. Please note the position of the toasting control is set on high. The other side of the bread looks the same.
once I got the settings right it's perfect

Love how my new toaster looks next to my KitchenAid mixer! It’s oblong shape sits well on my counter. Oh yeah and I like how the single slot accommodates pita bread and hot dog buns!
Fits great.

I've had this about a month and we use daily. It is a great size to fit "slim-ly" on the end of the counter. And looks good. But, we have to set at darkest setting PLUS push the "frozen" feature to get our sourdough bread to even come close to toasted without the bother of toasting twice. Getting used to it, but not quite what I'd hoped for. I trust it will last a LONG time, though, and that's why I settled on a Kitchenaide.
Disappointed

Bought this 5 months ago. Nice toaste,r but takes quite longer to toast than the toaster it replaced, which had similar size features and watt power. The most annoying thing are the two lever side by side, either we don't use the right one to push the toasts down or we just 'snag' the setting lever. Well, with time I guess we will adjust.
