Every couple of days I have to take a thick layer of ice out of the bottom of the freezer . After spending a lot for this appliance I really do t think we should have to do this.

We have a Amana Chest Freezer that is 40 years old still working. Had an Amana Refrigerator with top freezer that lasted 18 years. We just purchased another Amana refrigerator with a bottom freezer and just love it. Won't buy anything else but an Amana product.

We have had the refrigerator for almost two weeks, and we are very pleased with it. We are especially impressed with the Amana Customer Service line where we have addressed several questions in these first few weeks of ownership. The people at Amana answer the phone quickly and provide complete and excellent information about questions a new owner may have. We are very pleased with the ability to reach directly into our refrigerator for everything and not to have to bend any longer to get to fruits and vegetables like we did for too many years with our last box. It is a pleasure to be able to open the door and have everything in front of us. The freezer on the bottom is a wise choice for both the room it provides and the ability to have more space in the refrigerator area. So far, very pleased!
