I absolutely LOVE this ice maker. I'm addicted to 'sonic' ice and makes it in my own kitchen. The only downfall is that it takes a bit longer than I expected to make ice, however I still use it several times a day, every day!!

Produces ice, but runs almost 24hrs a day and sounds just a bit quieter than an ice cream maker. Our kitchen is never quiet anymore. Ice is inconsistently melted/refrozen in chunks or expected pellet ice. And 3 days after I plugged it in, the app is told me it needs to be descaled. Family likes the pellet ice, but I expected a lot more given the price.

Makes the “good” ice…but…This unit is a replacement for my 1stBuild #496. They both make noises during their making cycles but this GE is easily 3x louder than the 1stBuild…rattles…buzzes…hums…and slurp-slurp-slurp. Not what I expected from a $600 appliance…and not what I expect from GE’s premium Profile Series line…. Here’s the uptick…As a retired GE Home Appliance Service Tech…The water-pump is sub-par, the active subsystems need more dampening, the removable panels need felt strips, and the outer encasement needs insulation…do that and you have a product worthy of the “Profile” name…
