I replaced my Maytag with this Whirlpool model. I was assured that Whirlpool was a quality product and that Maytag was purchased by Whirlpool. Very dissatisfied. Was unable to see the unit prior to purchasing from local appliance store. Had to purchase by viewing a few pictures on website while sitting at salesperson's desk in the store. Spent more by purchasing from local appliance store - but sales experience was equivalent to self-servie online purchasing. Two biggest design flaws are 1) in order to fit a gallon jug on bottom shelf, the middle shelf needs to be raised to a height that basically eliminates any practical use of the that shelf since the top shelf is not able to be adjusted. 2) freezer door shelves do not have solid bottoms ... ridiculous design - nothing can be stored in the door that does not fall out! My past 2 refrigerators had molded solid shelves in the door - to go back to a plastic bar with no bottom is a throw back to 15 years ago - cheap and impractical. Very odd since this they put a glass shelf in the freezer. 3) Additional design flaw - none of the glass shelves in either the refrigerator or the freezer extend to the back of the unit. It is advertised to have shelves that allow maximum storage (side-to-side) which is true but with the 1/2-3/4 inch gap at the back of each shelf, this conflicts with the "maximum" storage promise. I have never been this dissatisfied with an appliance that I purchased. Perhaps Whirlpool should consult with actual consumers when they design their products so that they are practical and functional. I would never have dreamed that updated designs of a new appliance would be so poorly done when dealing with a major appliance manufacturer.

The delivery guys left black fingerprints all over the inside of my freezer and refrigerator. He broke the door plug. Five days into owning the refrigerator, snow appears all over my freezer. It looked like the north pole. Today, day 10, my refrigerator is not keeping the milk cold. A technician is due today. We'll see......
