I had been complaining to my wife about wanting a kettle to heat water just for tea. She got this - looks great, red stands out and we get a lot of comments. The controls and temperature gauge read out correctly. Heat up time is reasonable and a loud bell goes off at the set temperature - for us that is 90. Yes we get a little crud from hard water, but not an issue.

I have had this kettle for almost 2 years when it started working intermittently. I checked the warranty and called Kitchen Aid. They shipped out a replacement, were gracious and gave clear instructions for returning old kettle, They paid for shipping and the new kettle began with it own 5 year warranty. It makes me more apt to buy other products from them. I love that the outside doesn't get hot since we have kids around. I like the temperature controls and checked their accuracy and they were correct. It also is a really nice look.

I bought this as we boil water daily for making coffee (coffee press) and tea. I love the ability to select the temperature of the water which is great when making different varieties of tea. It comes to a boil amazingly fast.
