I played back and forth with the idea of purchasing one of the cheaper models and a KitchenAid for a long time but, after the reading so many reviews for both, I decided to wait until I could afford a KitchenAid.... and I'm so very glad I did. This machine is everything I had hoped for and come to expect, after reading others reviews. I have used it extensively since it arrived, both for everyday things and trying out new recipies which are now so easy to do. I love it. The only negative is the pour shield that came with it. I think the shield is a brilliant idea but the one I received does not sit on the bowl well and is therefore not secure and is easily knocked off when adding items to the bowl. Besides its "work horse" reputation the other big deciding factor for me is the attachements that are available to go with it. I can't wait to purchase the meat grinder and slicer. The absolute only downside, at the moment, is that I need to find a smaller bowl to use with it for smaller jobs.
