This is my replacement unit and I'm still having issues. Makes a ton of noise while making ice and always goes to defrost mode. I will be calling GE to get this resolved again.

This is my 3rd opal ice maker and i have to say I have been really disappointed in the quality of this machine. We have had it just over one week and I have spent the week nursing this machine to get ice. Additionally, this one dispenses ice so slowly it makes the other models with a scoop a much faster option. This machine does not tell you how much ice is available, continues to spend hours in defrost mode and request water be added when the machine is full of water.

I’ve only had it about a week, and it’s working fine. Except it’s having issues pulling water from the side tank. Lifting the side tank temporarily solves the problem but has to be done regularly. I’m hoping this resolves it’s self soon but kind of a bummer.
