When our chest freezer went after just over 5 yr..... I knew I had to get something that would make life easier. After careful research and price checking.... This Maytag Upright 16 cu Ft Freezer had everything I wanted and more. Not only will the Upright make it easier to manage not having to constantly rotate food from bottom to top as with a chest freezer, but it easily is accessable to just go in and get what I need. I love the adjustable wired shelving. Having door shelves is a big plus as well. I have the setting on cold and it is perfect. It also is Energy efficient. The biggest plus is Maytags 10 year warranty on the compressor. My last was 5 years and sure enough just after 5 years it went out. I opted for Home Depots extended 5 year warranty for parts and labor because frankly we all know how expensive labor can be and I just don't want to deal with that down the road if needed. Peace of mind comes with a price, but you can't beat the price on this Maytag. Hands down a winner in my book.By the way it is quiet. I mean there's a little noise but not like some have commented. MayTag is as American as Apple Pie...... The name says it all!!

Bought it a little over a week ago so that I could stock up on frozen foods that my kids can microwave and keep my chest style deep freeze for my meats. It works great. I am able to store a lot of food in it, and my kids can quickly and easily access what they want.
