This is the second KitchenAid ice maker I have purchased. The first one had a few problems and eventually wore out. The second one has been nothing but problems and is less than 3 years old. After spending $2000 + and getting an extended warranty from Lowe's where purchased (thank goodness) I have had 2 major breakdowns. The first took over 2 months to repair with 4 technician visits....replace one part, still doesn't work, then replace another, etc. The second repair is still occurring but not fixed with the ice maker not working for 2+ months and counting. Four technician (Via Appliance Services) visits and supposedly replaced every part internally dropped ice once...technician left and no more ice. This should be declared a lemon, but the law says 3+ service calls each 30 days apart. I've never been so frustrated with such an unreliable appliance. WARNING: DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!
